Flavor profile
Ripe black cherries, blackberries, and plums combine with notes of cedar wood, tobacco, cocoa, and sweet spices. With some air, leather, balsamic nuances, and fine roasted aromas also emerge. Powerful and complex, yet surprisingly elegant, with silky tannins and a long, harmonious finish.
Why we selected it
A great red wine needs time – and this Gran Reserva has received just that. The 2016 vintage is among the strongest in recent years in Ribera del Duero and impressively shows how beautifully Tempranillo can age. For us, a bottle for special moments that combines strength and finesse.
Perfect for
Festive dinners, special occasions, or an evening where the wine can take center stage. Also ideal as a gift for lovers of aged Spanish red wines.
Food recommendation
Pairs excellently with beef fillet, lamb rack, game dishes, braised meat, aged Manchego, or strong hard cheeses. Also wonderful with truffle dishes and mushroom risotto.
Cross-Selling
If you like this: Viyuela Reserva 2018 for a bit more fruit and freshness or Viyuela Crianza 2020 for a more accessible interpretation of the same Tempranillo style.
